The Press, once the site of an LA Times printing press and newsroom, has been reimagined as a creative campus. Under the direction of Steelwave and 2x4, the redevelopment project was completed in several phases over the course of three years. We worked with architects and designers, and in sequence with other tradespeople, to give it a cohesive look, inside and out. The design called for a layered, transparent quality on both raw concrete and treated wood, which was achieved by applying suspended pigments in a clear coat.
